Time and again I hear the same story: “As soon as I had kids, I stopped buying anything for myself.” There’s a lot about that that’s ok, and of course there’s a lot that is great about spending less in general – both from financial and consumerism standpoints. But let’s just play for a minute…
If you had to spend $500 on yourself today, not on anyone else, and not on anything practical (fixing something around the house, etc)… what would you buy?
Here are some things that top my list. Any one of them would do just fine:
- services at my favorite salon & day spa – no explanation needed, right?
- the 60mm f/2.8 macro lens or 85mm f/1.8 prime lens
- a plane ticket and hotel room at Disney World for a few days. Pass is already taken care of, after all!
I really wanted to look and add all sorts of cute clothes and shoes, but I don’t want to spend money on them until they aren’t so large. The clothes, that is. But that’s a post for another day, right? Today is for fun!
So let’s hear it – what would you buy? No guilt, no hesitation – you’re being forced to shop for yourself, after all!
